Black History Month Project
1. History. Today we are continuing our Black History Month project. You will create a PowerPoint slide presentation about a historic African-American, which will be put on a class web page when done. Today we are:
a. Finishing our research. Start at Google. Complete the worksheet and get it approved by Mr. Bedwell.
b. Finding pictures. Go to Google Images and find at least three pictures of the person (or related events) and save them in your folder.
c. Starting our PowerPoint. Read the printed instructions on "How to Create a PowerPoint Presentation". The first slide should have the person's name at the top, a good picture of him or her, and the basic biographical information (Lifespan, occupation).
Slide 1: Title (person's name), picture, lifespan, occupation, one sentence as to why famous.
Slide 2: Title (Accomplishments), picture, short paragraph or list of accomplishments.
Slide 3: Title (Quote), picture, quote

2. Today we are going to begin a Black History Month project. You will create a PowerPoint slide presentation about a historic African-American, which will be put on a class web page when done.
Today we are picking our subjects and doing research:
a. Select a historic figure from the list on the back of the worksheet, then show Mr. Bedwell. No duplicates allowed; first student to pick gets that person.
b. Research your subject. Start at Google. Complete the worksheet and get it approved by Mr. Bedwell. Then, go to Google Images and find at least three pictures of the person (or related events) and save them in your folder. You must finish the research first!
